Tourists flock to Kuakata beach despite inclement weather

A large number of tourists and visitors have arrived at Kuakata Beach, the natural beauty of sunrise and sunset, focusing on the autumn Durga Puja and the weekend. Tourists are flocking to the beach despite the inclement weather. Most of the residential hotels, motels and resorts here have already been booked in advance.

On the spot this morning, it was seen that a large number of tourists have flocked to the beach despite the rain. Many are taking sea baths, many are enjoying themselves with friends. The puja and weekend holidays will last until October 4 (Saturday). Tourism-dependent businesses have already made preparations for this four-day long holiday and have completed the cleaning work.

Tourists have started coming to Kuakata Beach since September 29 for the autumn festival. Businessmen are hoping that lakhs of people will gather for the puja holiday this time. Many tourists are still contacting for bookings due to the long holiday. Tourism-oriented businessmen have appealed to the government to maintain the stability of the country.

According to the Residential Hotel-Motel Owners Association, there are more than 250 hotels and resorts, both large and small, in Kuakata.

Most of the first-class hotels have been 100 percent booked in advance. 50-60 percent of the rooms in the second and third-class hotels have also been booked, which they are hopeful will reach 100 percent.

Rajib Hossain, manager of the residential hotel Saikat, said that 70 of their rooms are booked from September 30 to October 3. 90 percent of the 77 rooms in the Tourism Corporation’s motels, Youth Inn and Holiday Homes have been booked in advance.

Al-Amin Khan Ujjal, AGM of Sikder Resort and Villas, said that their resorts and villas have been 100 percent booked from October 1 to 3.

Tourist Gopal Karmakar from Satkhira said, “I came here with my friends on the occasion of the main festival of the Sanatan Dharma followers. Kuakata beach has been decorated in a new way with the arrival of many people. I had a lot of fun.”

Meanwhile, security arrangements have been strengthened to accommodate the arrival of a large number of tourists. The beach area is under the surveillance of Kuakata Tourist Police, Mahipur Police Station police, army and intelligence members. The Tourist Police Kuakata Zone Authority said that the administration has already made all preparations to ensure that the visitors can travel without any problems.

Assistant Superintendent of Police of Tourist Police Kuakata Zone Md. Habibur Rahman said that a large number of tourists have arrived in Kuakata focusing on puja and weekends. Security has been strengthened to ensure the safety of the arriving tourists and to ensure that they can travel without any problems. Mobile patrol teams are working at the tourist spots with additional police deployment.

Kuakata Municipal Administrator and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Yasin Sadek said that for the safety of tourists, the municipal authorities, Mahipur Police Station police and other law enforcement agencies are engaged in security through check posts at important places including roads and highways.
